♥My Top 5 Makeup Bag Essentials♥

Hey everyone!

So I'm on a blogging roll today!♥
Some people wanted a what's in my makeup bag post and just as I went to take pictures I realised I have 2 big makeup bags full up. So I'm just going to do my essentials that I wont travel without! this isn't all of them but maybe I will do a part 2!?♥
I'm not sure how many of you have noticed but I have put a poll at the top of my homepage where you guys can choose what posts you want! (p.s you can choose more than one!)♥
So anyway,here we go!!!♥

Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream-Light.
1. Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream- This stuff is AMAZING! I have used mine so much and go on about it so much that my family got me 2 bottles for christmas! It doesnt ever look cakey or go orange! If you're like me and find it hard to find the perfect foundation then this is for you! I can't comment on how good it is for oily skin but I sometimes have a few oily patches and this looks fine on them. I have mainly dry, sensitve skin and I'm pretty pale. It is also pretty good for discolouration but I have pretty bad undereye bags and even alot of concealers dont cover them up!! you can buy it from boots and superdrug. It's also pretty cheap at £8 because mine has lasted me a good 6-7 months! There are 4 colours, Light, Medium, Dark and Universal Glow.It also has SPF 30 Bonus!!♥

Mua Conceal and Brighten Kit!
2. MUA Professional Pro-Base Conceal and Brighten Kit.- Talking about my dark circles I had the ELF studio concealer set thing and loved it but unfortunatley lost it:( so when I was in Superdrug one time this was a god sent. It was on offer for £3.50 but I later found it on the MUA website for £2.50! bummer!!♥

Mine is in Porcelain-Beige, I found the colour scheme hard to understnad so I ended up holding them all up together and seeing which was the lightest which was the one I have. The 'kit' comes with 2 concealers, a yellow toned and a red toned and also a highlighting cream which doesnt really come out a colour once blended in. I find that you only need a small bit and i can mix both together and my under eye circles are almost gone! I used an old eyeshadow brush to apply and if needed my finger to blend them in! If you use the right amount then they wont be cakey but if you use too much they go cakey and a bit orange, so start of with a tiny bit! Less is more remember!! I also really like the packaging! You can buy them online here and in-store from superdrug! There are 3 colours Porcelain-Beige,Natural-Medium Rose and Beige-Golden. MUA have some great products and they ship internationally so I reccomend you check them out!!♥

Cherish-Swatched.
Balm Stain in Cherish.
3. Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain- well these were better than I thought they would be. I had wante done for aaaaaageeees but decided to wait because i'm tight and didn't want to pay £8 for a lip product because I have sooo many! But then they were on offer in boots for £5 and I resisted until after christmas when I had all my christmas money and bought one in cherish after swatching them all 3 times! I bought the one in Cherish. Its a gorgeous baby pink but can be built up to a barbie pink! The one down side to these are the smell. It makes me feel ill, I wished they smelt like the lip butters! It smells like mint which doesn't sound too bad but it smells like grass aswell, but for such a good product I looked past it, I wear this everyday and just put less on for school. It's great to wear to school because I dont have to worry about taking it with me and topping up, I just take a gloss with me. Its also not drying like a normal stain!♥

You can buy them here (boots) and here (superdrug) and at the moment (14/01/13) they are £5 both places...I might get another one!?♥

NYX Blush- Angel.
4.NYX Blush in Angel- I won't talk too much about this but if again, you're like me (pale!!) and find it hard to find the right blush this will be your god sent! Also if you're lazy with highlighting and bronzing and you just do blusher (like me) this for me is all 3 in one! You only need a little and it just gives such a pretty glow! I also don't find it too shimmery or orange etc... you can find it on Amazon and I think NYX have a UK website, i'm not too sure though, maybe a lovely person could link it in the comments for me? I think it's under £5 aswell!♥

the amazing wand!
the packaging!
5.MUA Professional Mega Volume Mascara-Last but not least (I certainly need to do another one of these because I have so many more favourites!) This is AMAZING! I bought it just because I wanted to try a new mascara and for £3 I though nothing could go wrong! I sneakingly opened one in Superdrug to look at the wand and as soon as I saw it I put it in my basket! its just amazing. Mine is in Waterproof Black just because thats what I prefer but you can get whatever you want. I have never had a problem with clumping or drying or anything bad. It seperates and volumises which is hard to find in a mascara and I apply one coat and then one more once it's dried and it makes my lashes look fake! you can buy it online here and in-store in superdrug. I also love the Bright pink packaging and the amount of mascara that comes out on the wand!♥

SO! Thanks for watching, dont forget to vote on the poll and if you can think of any ideas that aren't there then feel free to tell me on instagram or comment down below!!♥

Sophie♥

DIY Peter Pan Collars!♥

Hey Everyone!

So,recently I posted some pictures (below) of a little crafty project I did over the weekend...Peter Pan Collars!
Burgandy felt with Black flower sequins and a couple of beads!
Black Felt with Bronze sequins!
Cream Felt with Rose Gold and silver flat-backed pearls!

After posting those pictures on instagram some poeple asked me how I did it, yes, I have a youtube channel but I didn't feel like posting a video about it so I thought i would create this!

So, Here's what you need;

  • Scissors-you can use fabric scissors but I just used normal scissors.
  • Felt- just the normal felt that we used as kids! you can get whatever colour you want, mine was 50p per sheet from hobbycraft.
  • Glue- dont use pva glue as this wont stick! I used an all purpose clear extra strong glue from bostick which can be found at hobbycraft aswell but i got mine at Tesco.
  • Decorations- I used all the ones in the picture below.

These can all be purchased again, from Hobbycraft
They all cost under £1. I used flatbacked pearls, sequins, flower
sequins and small pearl beads.

  • Ribbon- You can use whatever colour you want again I used hot pink organza ribbon and for 3m it cost £1 from Hobbycraft again.
Template- I used this one- http://desireandinspire.com/diy-peter-pan-collar-necklace/

Okay, so to start off you need to cover whatever surface you're working on. I was working on my desk and I just taped down 3 pieces of paper.

the felt peter pan collar

  1. Cut out your template and fold it in half.
  2. Fold your choice of felt in half and place the fold of the template on the fold of the felt.
  3. For this step you can either trace around the template then cut it out or pin the template down the cut it out or as I did stick it down with double-sided tape then cut it out, the tape comes off of the felt really easily.
  4. Once you have your felt peter pan collar, choose your method of decoration.
  5. If you want a specific pattern on your collar then lay it out before you start sticking it down.
  6. Stick down your pattern if you like it!
  7. Leave it to dry! the glue I used (down) drys pretty fast and I had my radiator on so I left the collar on the radiator for about 5 minutes.
  8. Measure your ribbon, I just wrapped mine around my neck once then cut that in half.
  9. the piece of felt over the ribbon
    (step 10.)
the pattern I layed out before sticking it down.
  10. When your collar is completley dry and you have your 2 even pieces of ribbon, turn your collar around and glue on the ribbon.
10. This step is optional but after i had stuck on the ribbon i cut out a small rectangle from the same colour felt and stuck that on top of the ribbon, this isn't nessecary but it was more comfortable on your neck and also looks better (see above for an example!)

a close up of the pearl one,I done 2 little flowers:)
the sequin one I made,I put
every sequin on seperatley!

 the glue I used.
